Don’t Be Sucked In By Slick Diet Advertising

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

done28099t-be-sucked-in-by-slick-diet-advertisingThere are many rules and many guidelines that you must follow to complete many of them. Some diets insist that you eat what they say eat and when they say, others specify that you must take supplements, usually expensive ones, along with their diet plans. And finally, the most common diet plan of them all is the “milkshake that replaces your normal dinner one”.

The diets that stipulate which foods you must eat and which foods you may not, will certainly lead to disaster, if you find yourselves quickly hiding and eating a chocolate cookie when the plan says you cannot eat it until tomorrow.

Many times, a diet that has been sworn by a celebrity to work, as they have lost 20lbs. In fact many of the diets that have been promoted, are overpriced and are overly fussy and do not allow for the average working person to easily lose weight.

There have been numerous adverts on the TV offering “a pill a day and see the weight drop off” promises with regard to diet pill supplements, all that happens in reality is that the weight drops off the bottom of your bank balance and you are left feeling a few dollars lighter

They are there in the supermarket aisles, the weight watching meals, all glossy and shiny, promising low in fat and low in calorie delights.

The chocolate cookies that don’t taste like chocolate cookies as the sugar content has be left out. The ready meals that promise to taste like home cooked meals and taste like they have been microwave again and again. They promise you the earth and you are charged for it.

Forget all the marketing, the special offers and the slogans about losing five pounds in five days. Look at your cooking methods and try adding a little olive oil to your cooking and a little more protein to your meals.

Fish, eggs, cheese and chicken all contain protein and can make you feel full and can banish the hunger pangs. By just adjusting a little in your eating habits and by eating this way, will make you feel less inclined not to take a detour to the sweet cupboard.

Save money, sit back and think about what you eat and what you could cut back on. Try to get rid of the junk food, add a few fresh vegetables and fruit to your diet. Replace white bread and white sugar with brown bread and brown sugar. Try using olive oil in your cooking rather then normal sunflower oil.

Have a look around at where you live, is there somewhere where you can buy locally grown produce. Buying it locally could save you money and be more nutritious for you.

Allow yourself that little treat but don’t over indulge. Make yourself follow these steps; if you really want to lose weight and not lose money, try this method, you are losing nothing by trying.

Forget the Diet – Just Change Your Attitude!

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

diet-12If you are one of the millions of men and women who have tried every diet in the book (and on the Net), and never found one that “worked” for you, maybe you just need an attitude adjustment.

After all, it is pretty well known that the mind controls the body to an extent that is – well, unknown! The way you think about eating has a great deal to do with what and how much you eat.

The key here is simply that highly touted but still very effective little phrase “positive thinking”. Sure, you’ve heard it applied to all kinds of sales pitches and you’re probably good and tired of it, but listen up: it works!

There are as many reasons for overeating as there are people who overeat, but one of the underlying causes, which applies to some extent to the vast majority, is insecurity and a general lack of self esteem. The other is unrealistic expectations, or demanding too much of yourself when it comes to your weight, your diet – or anything else.

First you must set some obtainable goals, and then forgive yourself if you fail to reach them on the first (or second, or third) attempt. You can just say, “OK, no one is perfect, not even me,” and keep practicing.

Here’s a concept to alter the way you approach the problem: remove the word ‘should’ from your vocabulary. What you ‘should’ do is too often defined by someone else’s opinion on the subject. Instead, try to set your goals based on what you want to accomplish for yourself – not for some conventional or popular standard. Once you have done this, take it one step at a time.

Part of your realistic expectations must be allowing for your own personal satisfaction. For example, if your favorite food in the whole world is chocolate, do not despair.

Make it a treat that you deserve occasionally, like a chocolate sundae on Sunday, or something along those lines. Also, try substituting a fruit or two that you really enjoy – all of them are great sources of ‘healthy’ calories, plus a lot of other benefits like vitamins and fiber.

You will probably find, after a bit of practice, that you enjoy the fruit as much or more than the chocolate. It’s mostly in the attitude.

‘Believing in yourself’ is not something that comes easily to many people. This goes back to the “should” syndrome. Why would you want to conform to some standard set by fashion models (whose standards were set by still others’ idea of what is attractive)?
Not all bodies are the same, nor were they meant to be, and how boring if they were!

What is needed is to feel good about the way you look. That’s the goal you want to set for yourself, and it is not an unreasonable expectation.

Changing the way you think is not an overnight process. It takes practice, like anything else worth doing well. The great reward is that this practice is good for a lifetime.

Treating Cellulite with Lipo Dissolve

Sunday, March 15th, 2009

lipoLipo dissolve is a fairly new way to get rid of or reduce cellulite. You’ve likely seen advertisements on the radio or on TV touting how lipo dissolve can help you lose fat and consequently cellulite. Lipo dissolve is an alternative to lipo suction.  Lips dissolve contours the body and helps individuals get rid of stubborn extra inches. Lipo suction typically help individuals lose weight. While  Lipo dissolve may be very effective in helping men and women get rid of fat, there is some question about whether or not it will work to decrease cellulite.

Lipo dissolve is very similar to mesotherapy. The doctor will use an instrument to help dissolve fat. This injection is not very painful and it’s much easier on the body then lipo suction. The plastic surgery will inject something into the connective tissues and the fat that’s underneath it. This medication is PCDC and it helps to dissolve the fat and then is taken out of the body.  The results can be seen fairly quickly, typically within three weeks.  In many cases it will require individuals to receive more than one treatment. Lipo dissolve helps to get rid of fat deeper under skin then mesotherapy.  The medication used in lipo dissolve also differs then what is used in mesotherapy as well.

Mesotherapy typically uses amino acids, vitamins and minerals.  It does dissolve fat under the skin as well, however different medications are used and lipo dissolves  works to get rid of fat that is deeper underneath the skin then Mesotherapy.

Many professionals would suggest that persons with cellulite use Mesotherapy be rather than Lipo dissolve.  This is because Mesotherapy gets rid of the superficial layer of fat that is right underneath skin, where cellulite develops.  In contrast,  Lipo dissolve gets rid of fat that is deeper underneath the skin.  And while you may be able to lose inches, it really won’t do much for cellulite. Consequently, if cellulite is the problem that you are targeting then it’s best to go with Mesotherapy.  If you’re interested in losing a few inches, then Lipo dissolve may be a good option.

Lipo dissolve can also be pretty expensive.  This will depend on your budget but in most cases it is between $500- $1500. As stated before, there may need to be multiple treatments and so that is another consideration.  Many people suggest that you might need at least six treatments.

If you looking to get rid of cellulite surgically and if diet, exercise or creams have not been effective and you are considering more drastic options, really consider mesotherapy.  While lipo dissolve will help you get rid of unwanted fat, it doesn’t deal with the fat that causes cellulite. Therefore, it’s really not a good option for persons who are trying to get rid of cellulite.
