nwaz_02_img0145Can the foods that you put into your body promote good health and balance within the body which can lead to weight loss? The macrobiotic diet has Japanese origins and has been said to work best when the diet is implemented as a life change that is based on the origins of balance between nature, balance within the body and balance between nature and the body. Can the macrobiotic diet help you to shed those unwanted pounds?
There are many benefits from the macrobiotic diet, aside from the weight loss that can be seen from following the program. An improved immune system is one of the chief affects of the macrobiotic diet.

Between 50 and 60 percent of the diet is based on the ingestion of whole grains. This is unlike many other diets which limit these types of carbohydrates, although they have been proven to beneficial within the bodily system. Although whole grains can be used it is important to limit the amount of yeast that is introduced into the body – as well as setting limits within regards to how much pasta can be part of the diet. Brown rice, oats, corn and wheat are all good whole grains that should make up this fifty to sixty percent of the diet that is based on whole grains.

Vegetables compose the other twenty to thirty percent of food that should be ingested while following the macrobiotic diet. There are three vegetables which are clearly omitted from the diet, these include; potatoes, tomatoes and eggplant. What is the reason for these certain types of vegetables being removed from the diet? These plants do not grow in the original area and therefore are not important within the immune system. In fact, eating these vegetables has been thought to be attributed with losing the amount of natural immunities that are found within the body while on the diet.

Soups comprise up to ten percent of the diet – made with the ingredients which are mentioned above. These soups should be eaten regularly as well as certain types of vegetables and sea weed which are found in the ocean. Although these items may not be found locally, they contain some of the highest values of vitamins, nutrients and antioxidants which are beneficial when we take the time to introduce these types of food into the diet.

Five to ten percent of the diet is made up of foods that are allowed on an occasional basis. These foods include nuts and certain types of fish. There should be great importance placed on the fruits and vegetables which are grown naturally in the area that you live. These will contain the most beneficial nutrients and allow the immune system to flourish as they are exposed to many of the same components as your body.

Eating naturally, while consuming as little processed food as possible can lead to weight loss as well as this lifestyle change. Many illnesses are thought to come from foods that have been highly processed and therefore avoiding illness while losing weight can be easily achieved while following the macrobiotic diet.
