At Home Remedies For Cellulite

cellulite3Cellulite can be very unpleasant to live with. It can restrict the types of clothing that one chooses to wear and may even cause some women to feel embarrassed about being seen naked by their spouses or to be undressed in front of other women.  There are a few different ways that an individual can deal with cellulite.

Some methods are very inexpensive such as anti-cellulite lotions and creams while others are very costly for example, surgeries or spa therapies.  Thankfully, there are home remedies for cellulite and things that can be done privately to improve the condition. We will take a look at some of the most common home remedies.

The first thing that one should consider doing is a body detox.  Simply put, detoxification involves getting rid of the toxic build-up internally.  This can be done by drinking water with lemon and perhaps taking a break from processed or cooked foods. Some individuals will only eat fruits and vegetables and drink water for a few days. There are some groups that believe that cellulite is partly caused by a build up of toxins in the body. In order to remedy the condition, it is vital to detoxify the body. While there is some debate over whether toxins can cause cellulite, going on a short detoxification diet can help you clean out your system and may be worth doing.

Exercise is another very powerful home remedy for cellulite. Stretching, aerobic exercise and weight training are all great things to do to reduce cellulite. Engaging in some type of aerobic exercise such as jogging, riding a bike or rollerblading can all be very beneficial. This will help to improve and increase blood circulation, get rid of toxins and also build muscle and burn fat.

Massage is another home remedy that is absolutely free. You can do this yourself.  Massage will enable you to help break up the fat deposits that lie just beneath the skin that often turns into cellulite.  Using some type of bathing mitt or brush to exfoliate the skin is also good.  You may also want to make use of cellulite lotions and/or massage oils.  Oils with peppermint are good because they are believed to help improve circulation.

The use of coffee grounds is one of the most popular home remedies for cellulite.  Most anti-cellulite creams and lotions have some type of coffee or caffeine in the ingredients. Coffee is believed to help increase blood flow and decrease fat cells.  To use this remedy at home, simply take some coffee grounds that have already been used. They need to be warm.  Add them to your favorite lotion or some type of oil, olive oil works really well.  Press the coffee grounds with the oil or lotion into the skin and wrap your body with some type of plastic.  Let it sit for about 30 minutes, unwrap the plastic and rinse off the coffee grounds.  If you do this two times a week you should see some temporary improvement in the appearance of your cellulite. It would be best to do this right before a big event. If you would like a more permanent solution, make sure that you consume a healthy balanced diet, drink plenty of water, exercise and lift weights.
