Coffee And Your Metabolism

coffeeCoffee has a tremendous number of benefits including helping individuals speed up their metabolism and lose or maintain weight. Millions of people around the world drink coffee. It’s often consumed in the morning to give individuals a burst of energy and help them wake up when they are feeling tired.  It has been found to be extremely healthy if you drink it in moderation.

Caffeine, the main ingredient in coffee, has a lot of great functions. It can help improve persons’ endurance when they are participating in exercise. It also provides a short-term burst of energy, which is especially helpful for individuals who are participating in some type of athletic activity and are looking to burn calories. Caffeine also reduces feelings of pain while one is exercising which can help them exercise harder and longer. The more that a person exercises and the more effort they are able to put into it, the more calories and fat they will be able to burn.

Most people realize that coffee is great for helping individuals feel alert mentally and also decreases the feelings of tiredness. This is why many people consume coffee when they first wake up. Coffee is also a great drink to consume before one exercises. There was a study done on cyclists that found that those that drank 330 mg of coffee before they exercised, were able to cycle for nearly 15 minutes more than those individuals that did not.  This is nearly a 20% increase. This can be quite significant when it comes to burning some extra calories or fat.

Coffee and caffeine can also help the body burn fat and improve the metabolism. A recent study done by the International Society of Sports Nutrition Conference found that coffee which contained bitter orange, chromium and hydroxy citric acid helped to boost the metabolism 30%. This is known as a functional coffee which has added ingredients. In this case it was bitter orange, chromium and hydroxyl citric acid.

Coffee has a number of benefits, including helping one be able to exercise longer and also increases their metabolic rates. Two to three cups of coffee a day is fine. However, too much caffeine can become problematic.  Drinking coffee before one exercises, can help them burn more calories and also increase their metabolic rate, both which can contribute to weight loss. Caffeine is a very simple way to promote weight loss. It can be very effective when combined with exercise and healthy eating. It is important to note that caffeine is a diuretic and can cause dehydration which can thwart weight loss. Therefore, it is important that you drink an adequate amount of water.
