Five Ways to Find Motivation to Exercise

When you lose motivation for exercise, there are many ways that can exercise can be implemented into the routine and become part of the daily activities. When you lose your motivation to exercise, use these techniques to rekindle the motivation and find the reason that makes you want to hit the gym, go for a walk, or simply become active.

Make it Routine. When you make exercise part of your routine it can become a stable reason to begin a work out. Find the time that works best for you – whether it is morning, afternoon or evening. Once you begin to adhere to the routine for as little as two weeks it can simply become part of your lifestyle.

Try Something New. Exercise doesn’t have to be jumping on to the treadmill and running for fifty minutes. It can be something that you enjoy, such as a seasonal activity like cross country skiing, swimming, snowboarding, surfing and even rock climbing. When you try something new it gives you the chance to learn about new exercise techniques while engaging muscles that you may not have considered. Trying something new, even new classes at the gym to jazz up the motivation to begin or kick start your exercise routine.

Make an Appointment with A Trainer. An appointment with a personal trainer can lead to a new routine and encourage weight loss. If you have reached a plateau in your weight loss goals than this session can enable you to see what you have been doing wrong or to find ways where you can burn more calories, lose inches and weight and learn a new workout routine that can jazz up the old routine and help you to find motivation within the weight loss program.

Track your Progress. When you think about where you were when you began working out and the progress that you have reached since that point you can be proud of the achievements that you have made. Think about the stamina that you have created and how long you are able to make it into your workout program compared to the point that you can work out now. How far have you come from the beginning? Think about accomplishments with how much has been achieved in the way of increasing weights which you are able to lift.

There are many things that you can do to find the motivation to work out. When you simply examine the reasons that you have for working out you will find the inspiration to continue on with your workout program. Motivation can come from simply realizing the goals that you have achieved and the goals that you have yet to achieve.

Easy Weight Loss Motivation Techniques

istockweightlossfearbThere are many ways to overcome a plateau in your weight loss and encourage motivation to keep exercising and eating healthy. Unfortunately, plateaus have affected many dieters from losing weight and can quall motivation when we see the unchanging numbers on the scale.

Use these tips to find weight loss motivation in your diet program:
Use an upcoming special even as inspiration to shed the pounds. Do you have a wedding coming up that you are dying to look great at? Perhaps you are attending the dreaded high school reunion or are going to be celebrating an anniversary with your loved one.

Use a contest as inspiration. When you make fun of weight loss through the use of a contest with friends, family members or even a weight loss groups it can be an unexpected motivation to shed the excess pounds. Incorporating tantalizing prizes to encourage weight loss can be a welcome addition to the new tradition.
Reward Yourself. When you reward yourself with a new outfit or shoes or something else that is not food related than it allows you to feel good about yourself and about the goals that you have established within the weight loss program.

Motivational Outfits. Although many experts recommend waiting until the weight has been lost before purchasing clothing for the weight loss it can be helpful to try and fit into an outfit that will fit as soon as five to ten pounds have been lost from the weight loss program. Don’t go more than one size smaller at first – this can be the reverse of motivational.

Ditch the Old Clothing. Arrange your clothing in manner of sizes and ditch the old clothing that is larger than two sizes. Most women have clothing that ranges over at least six sizes – keeping these old clothes may seem like a safety net but can be detrimental to the weight loss. Keep the older, larger clothing at the far end of the closet to be purged regularly. Replace these items with well fitting pieces that will fit your newer shape.

List the Reasons for Weight Loss. What reasons do you have for losing weight? Are you trying to obtain a healthier lifestyle or trying to show and prove to people that you can indeed partake in the weight loss? Think about these reasons and make a list of at least ten reasons why you want to be successful in the weight loss process. Put this list in a place where you can see it on daily basis as an affirmation throughout the entire weight loss process.

Once you find weight loss motivation in one or two places it can last throughout the duration of the plateau. Motivation can come from these resources – but are best found on a personal level that you can relate to.

5 Tips to get yourself to Exercise

You can fit exercise into your life. Everyone has a different reason that motivates them to exercise. In order to get yourself to exercise, you need to find this reason and remind yourself every day. If you keep reminding yourself why you are exercising, you will have your new fit body in no time. These next 5 tips will help you get your body to where you want it to be.
 
Tip #1   Create a Detailed Exercise Plan
  
If you want to get yourself to exercise, you must first create a plan to follow. This plan should focus on the problems areas you are trying to fix. If your abs are not tight enough, you can opt to do crunches or play a sport like tennis that works your midsection. Do not begin any exercise goals with out a plan. Remember the saying a goal without a plan is just a wish.
 
Tip #2   Get a Personal Trainer if Necessary
 
Everyone has heard personal trainer horror stories. You personal trainer does not have to be one. Find someone who you get along with and who will force you to exercise. Along with an already made exercise plan, you can utilize the personal trainer effectively.
 
Tip #3   Make it Fun
 
Exercise does not have to be a chore.  You can jazz up your exercise routine with listening to some great music, hanging out with friends, or trying an activity that you have always wanted to do. The sky is the limit when it comes to exercise. Be creative!
 
Tip #4   Surround Yourself with Like-minded People
 
Typically, the best way for me to get myself to exercise is to hang around people with similar goals. If my goal is win a triathlon, I would surround myself with people with similar goals. Exercise is much more fun with a group of people. Time will pass by so quickly that you will hardly notice.
 
Tip #5   Get an Accountability buddy.
 
You both can remind each other to work out. He/She can call you in the early morning and you can them at night. Pick whatever works for you and your buddy and stick with it. You do not necessarily have to have the same exercise goals but just be willing to support each other.
 
If you follow all these 5 tips, you will be on your way to enjoying exercise instead of dreading it.
