Using Acupuncture to Help You Lose Weight

untitled2The powers of acupuncture are well known as they have the ability to decrease the symptoms which are associated with multiple diseases and disorders. Acupuncture can cure so many other diseases by stimulating glands and nerves – why not weight loss? There are many people trying to lose a little, or a lot of weight seeking alternative therapies that will not introduce chemicals and toxins that are found in the majority if diet pills into the body. For these dieters, partaking in regular exercise, acupuncture can be used as a complimentary therapy to increase the amount of weight which can be potentially lost.

What is acupuncture? The acupuncture process involves tiny needles being inserted, just under the skin to promote everything from the immune system, reducing pain, reduce stress as well as to promote healing within the body. The needles are tiny, hair-like needles that are inserted just below the skin. Although the procedure may seem intimidating – the acupuncture process is completely painless. These needles are inserted at pressure points which are associated with various illnesses and symptoms.

Acupuncture has the ability to help the patient fight cravings that come with dieting by stimulating various parts of the body while enhancing the ability of the patient to see positive results from their current weight loss program. The body is connected; therefore certain parts have been associated with different physiological processes and behaviors.

Acupuncture lies on the basis that the body is full of flowing energy. There is a belief that weight loss can be impossible when this energy is misaligned. When the energy levels are too high, too low or unable to flow throughout the system the body is unable to work in harmony with the components – making weight loss impossible. Acupuncture assists in maintaining the energy level within the body and ensuring that the energy is able to flow from all of the various systems.

After the patient decides to try acupuncture to compliment your weight loss program – it is important to realize that this indeed a procedure that requires a professional approach. A detailed history is required form the patient to ensure that no adverse effects will come from the acupuncture treatment.

There are many ways that acupuncture is used to treat weight loss. It allows the energy levels within the body to become increased – leaving more energy for exercising and taking part in an active lifestyle. Acupuncture also encourages that a natural and healthy lifestyle be undertaken, which can reduce the amount of unhealthy foods that dieters choose to put into their body. With the increased flow of energy within the body, and blockages being broken – the body can have the ability to heal and therefore can successfully initiate the weight loss process.
A large part of weight loss is the regulation of sleep. Experts have theorized that a good night’s sleep can be effective in losing weight. Acupuncture assists in regulating the internal clock, allowing a good night’s sleep to occur. At this point, the body is preparing itself for weight loss and will embrace the changes that come with the newly healthy lifestyle.
