new-year-weight-loss

It is the time of year that health centers, diet supplement manufacturers, and gyms dream about. The holidays are over and people all over the world are committing to making drastic life changes in the next twelve months. Hundreds of people vow to lose millions of pounds…ASAP. Unfortunately, as soon as many of these resolutions are made they are forgotten.

Losing weight is seen as arduous, unpleasant, and downright no fun. But what if you could keep your New Year’s resolution to lose weight and improve in your health in 2009? What if was not a painful and depressing process that left you feeling tired and constantly hungry?

There are right ways and wrong ways to lose weight. The wrong ways involve promises of instant weight loss, starvation, poor nutrition, and leave you feeling lethargic and depressed. The right ways of losing weight will actually give you more energy, keep you from being hungry, and improve your overall health. And yes, believe it or not, the right ways do work.

The best tip for effective weight loss is to be realistic. Make a plan and be realistic. Determine your weight loss goal for one month, two months, and three months. When you get to the one-month mark you can adjust your plan and re-set your goals based on your current results.

Diet realistically. Find a diet that works for you, fits your lifestyle, and is healthy. Good nutrition is essential to healthy weight loss. Do not choose a diet that ignores any of the major food groups and leaves you hungry.

Make sure to start your morning with a healthy breakfast. It is not only the most important meal for school children; breakfast is the most important meal for dieters. It will get your metabolism going and give your energy for your day.

Exercise! This is one of the most important components of any successful diet plan. Exercising in the morning will work with your breakfast to really jump-start your metabolism. You do not have to spend hundreds of dollars on a gym membership. Walking, biking, and swimming are all excellent aerobic exercises to help the pounds melt off.

Drink lots of water. You have most likely heard this tip many times but the facts are that water flushes the fat cells from your body. More water equals more flushing.

For your diet program to work you have to stick to it. This will be much easier if you admit from the beginning that you will actually be eating on your diet.

Choose a diet that provides you with healthy snacks and small meals throughout the day. The number one reason diets do not work is that people get hungry. Planning to avoid this mistake will help you find success with your diet plan.

Make this New Year the year to keep your resolution to lose weight. Resolve to do it the right way and you will find yourself loosing unwanted pounds and improving your health.
