Lose a Pound a Week Doing Nothing




There are many reasons to want to lose a pound a week doing nothing. Maybe you are recuperating from injury, or you are too heavy to do traditional workouts. The important thing to know is that you can do this, and setting a pound a week goal works well. It is safe because you will not get ill, or endanger yourself by starving, and it is a very achievable goal. Here are some tips to help you succeed:

1. Make a graph chart for keeping track of your weight loss over time. Weigh in only once a week to avoid daily fluctuations that might discourage you.

2. Try to set down five times a day for eating. Three are meals, and two are snacks. Do your best to stick to your eating schedule. Set the time for dinner at least three hours before bedtime, and keep meals about four to six hours apart. Between meals, have one snack. Do not eat after dinner.

3. Drink a glass of water about two hours after dinner if you are hungry. Be sure to drink water with or before each meal.

4. Substitute water, or hot water with a slice of lemon or a tablespoon of lemon juice for soda pop. You are trying to get away from sugar, sugar substitutes, and chemicals.

5. Have your biggest meal at lunch or breakfast, with smaller meals other times. Never, ever skip breakfast, it is important for the day.

6. Include vegetables, fruits, fowl, and fish more in your meals while reducing amounts of meat.

7. Switch from white products to organic or natural. Change white bread to wheat, white rice to brown rice, regular pasta to wheat or vegetable pasta, etc.

8. Increase walking by parking a little farther away from doors; walk up stairs when possible.

9. Breathe deeply, to increase oxygen in your blood.

10. Sleep enough nightly, at least 7 hours.

11. If hungry between meals, drink a glass of water, and wait 20 minutes or until the next meal or snack before eating. If you do eat, eat lightly.

12. Change your dinnerware and glassware to smaller sizes.

13. Watch portion control, and freeze leftovers in single portions.

The basic point to remember is that you are slowly making life changes, and this requires paying attention. You can lose a pound a week doing nothing. Do more and lose more!
